Three: Private J. F. Smith, 3rd Battalion Royal Fusiliers, who died of wounds, 12 May 1915

John Frederick Smith was born in Stratford and enlisted at Hornchurch. Serving with the 3rd Battalion Royal Fusiliers, he died of wounds on 12 May 1915, aged 32 years. He was buried in the Boulogne Eastern Cemetery. He was the brother of Mrs E. M. Eagon, of Fielders Cottages, Aveley, near Purfleet, Essex.
