James Douglas was born in and enlisted at Glasgow. Serving with the 7th Battalion Scottish Rifles, he entered the Balkan theatre of war on 14 June 1915. He was killed in action at Gallipoli on 12 July 1915. His name is commemorated on the Helles memorial.
