James Henry Ruchardson was born in Dungannon, Co. Tyrone. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the Seaforth Highlanders at Glasgow on 12 January 1886, aged 18 years, 2 months. In the 2nd Battalion he served in India, September 1889-March 1897 and in Australia, November 1900-April 1901. Awarded the India Medal with clasp Hazara 1891 in addition to the above. Discharged in 1907; he died in Inverness on 13 July 1945. With copied service papers.
