Victory Medal 1914-19 (409560 Pte. A. Corfield, 31-Can. Inf.) worn through polishing, poor; British Empire Service League Canadian Legion Past President’s Badge, enamelled, reverse inscribed, ‘Laughlin A. MacLean M.M. Clace Bay N.S. branch 3 1935-1936’, complete with brooch bar, some enamel damage to bar; International Order of Allied Mothers in Sacrifice Medal, bronze, reverse inscribed, ‘Lydia S. Parrett’, with brooch bar, ‘Associated Kin of C.E.F. The People of Canada’, inscribed, ‘George Parrett’, very fine and better except where stated (3) £100-140

Private Alfred Corfield, 31st (Alberta) Battalion Canadian Infantry, wounded in action at Courcelette, 26 September 1916 - shrapnel fragments to right leg. Wounded and taken prisoner-of-war, 11 December 1917. With copied service papers.

Serjeant Laughlin Archibald MacLean, 25th Battalion Canadian Infantry (Nova Scotia Rifles). Awarded the M.M.
London Gazette 10 April 1918). With the citation, ‘For gallantry and devotion to duty. Although subjected to machine gun fire and heavy bombing, he entered a house occupied by a strong enemy party and engaged them in a hand-to-hand fight, killing two and wounding a third. He followed two men who ran into a cellar, and bombed them and generally gave throughout the attack the most gallant assistance to his Officer. His coolness, courage and disregard of danger assisted.’ Wounded and invalided to England in September 1916. Commissioned a Temporary Lieutenant in November 1918. As a Major in the Cape Breton Highlanders he was awarded the Efficiency Decoration in 1937. With copied research.

Gunner George Parrett, Canadian Field Artillery, died of wounds on 16 October 1916, having suffered shrapnel wounds to the abdomen. He was buried in the Etaples Military Cemetery. With copied service papers.
