44th (East Essex) Regiment Framed Fragment of the Colour 19th Century, a most interesting artefact being a section of either the Queen’s or Regimental Colour folded into an oval and mounted as per a portrait miniature, the centre being overlaid with gilt numerals ‘XLIV’, contained in a decorated frame and let into a wooden panel, the top now embellished with an Eagle pattern officer’s collar badge of the Essex Regiment; together with a WWI CEF mounted cloth shoulder title, this is embroidered red on khaki ‘Edmonton/101st/9’ together with standard issue ‘Canada’ collar badge and shoulder title and another shoulder title ‘C/3’, moth damage to the cloth shoulder title otherwise good overall condition (2) £100-150
