Georgian Period Shoulder Belt Plate, a small oval plate mounted with St. Edward’s crown over the crest of a Royal Duke engraved below ‘Je Maintaindrai’ (unmarked), one hook two stud fasteners; an unidentified society sash badge of rococo outline engine turned gilt metal face with applied gilt metal border scrolls in the centre various silver scrolls enclosing St. Edward’s crown over a plain white and blue enamelled oval in the centre ‘GR’ cypher the plate pierced in three places for attachment; a copy shoulder belt plate of the 8th King’s Royal Irish Light Dragoons; 72nd Highlanders the top section only of an officer’s bonnet badge (KK 535), chips to the blue enamel of the sash badge otherwise good overall condition (4) £250-350

Note: The motto ‘Je Mantaindrai’ is that of the House of Orange and could possibly apply to an Emigre Regiment during the period 1794 - 1815.
