Samuel Henry Church was born in Cam, Dursley, Gloucestershire. Entitled to a ‘no clasp’ Q.S.A. serving with the 3rd Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment on St. Helena guarding Boer prisoners-of-war, from 13 January 1901. With copied service papers.

English entitled to the Q.S.A. with clasps for ‘Cape Colony’, ‘Orange Free State’ and ‘South Africa 1902’.

Carvell entitled to a Q.S.A. with clasps for ‘Cape Colony’, ‘Orange Free State’, ‘Johannesburg’, ‘Diamond Hill’ and ‘Belfast’ and a K.S.A. with two clasps.

Brown entitled to the Q.S.A. with clasps for ‘Transvaal’, ‘Relief of Kimberley’, Paardeberg’ and Driefontein’ and a K.S.A. with two clasps. All with copied roll extracts.
