Military General Service 1793-1814, 7 clasps, Corunna, Barrosa, Pyrenees, Nivelle, Nive, Orthes, Toulouse (G. Shore, 28th Foot.) edge bruising and contact marks, otherwise nearly very fine £2000-2500

George Shore was born in the Parish of Radstock, Somerset, and enlisted into the 28th Foot at Fermoy, Co. Cork, on 18 July 1804, aged 20. He was discharged in November 1820, in consequence of a ‘violent injury received on his foot by the fall of a large stone while employed on Public Fatigue Duty at this Palace, with partial loss of motion, & being wounded in the right thigh on the 13 December 1813 at Bayonne when in action with the enemy’. Sold with copied discharge papers.
