Frederick Bramley was born at Clay Cross, Derbyshire and served in the Boer War with the Volunteer Company of the Derbyshire Regiment. Living in Shirebrook, Nottinghamshire, he enlisted into the Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment at Mansfield on 27 August 1914 and entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 14 July 1915. Serving with “A” Company, 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters, he was killed in action, in Italy on 29 June 1918, aged 39 years. He was buried in the Barenthal Military Cemetery. His name is also recorded on the Clay Cross War Memorial and in the Roll of Honour at Holy Trinity Church, Shirebrook. He was the son of William and Ellen Bramley of 132 High Street, Clay Cross and husband of Annie Bramley of 58 Warsop Vale, near Shirebrook. With copied research.
