Sadda Singh enlisted into the Indian Army on 18 May 1889. Serving in the 4th Cavalry he was appointed a Jemadar in July 1905; Ressaidar in July 1910; Risaldar in November 1914 and Risaldar-Major in February 1916. On 4 August 1915 he was awarded the O.B.I. 2nd Class and the title ‘Bahadur’ for his services in France.

One of three O.B.I’s. awarded to the unit, 1914-21.

Risaldar-Major Sadda Singh retired in 1920.
