David Wishart Forster was born in Newfield, Durham and enlisted at Durham. Served initially in the Durham Light Infantry. Serving as a Private in the 10th Battalion King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, he was killed in action on 4 December 1917, aged 25 years. He was buried in the Gouzeaucourt New British Cemetery, Nord, France.
