Lieutenant Robin Arthur Walton Williams was born in 1893 and educated at Eton College and Cambridge University. He was killed in action in France and Flanders at Hill 60 on 18 April 1915, whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion, King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. ‘Though he had been wounded earlier in the day, he was leading his men to attack a trench which had been captured the previous evening, but which had been retaken by the enemy.’
