George Bluett was born in Carlingford, Co. Louth. A Farmer by occupation, he attested for short service with the Imperial Yeomanry at Dublin on 9 January 1902, aged 20 years. He served with the 131st (Irish Horse) Company 29th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry in South Africa, March-September 1902. Discharged at his own request at Stellenbosch, 11 September 1902. With copied service papers and roll extract.
