Walter Henry James Attwater was awarded his L.S. & G.C. Medal while serving aboard the battleship H.M.S. King George V in November 1940 (the official roll refers), though whether he was similarly employed at the time of her part in the Bismarck action in May 1941 remains unknown; sold with original Admiralty campaign medal forwarding slip.
