Dorothy Eleanora Lucas was born Dorothy Eleanora Chisenhale-March on 25 August 1884 and was baptised at Theydon Garnon, Essex. She married Lieutenant Harold Clement Montagu Lucas in Theydon Garnon in September 1913. He was killed in action at Neuve Chapelle on 2 November 1914 while serving with the 2nd Gurkha Rifles. She served with the French Red Cross and Scottish Women’s Hospital. Entered Salonika in June 1917. Employed as an Orderly at the Girton Newnham Unit, June 1917-July 1918.
