Thomas Casey was born in Co. Longford and attested for the 91st Regiment on 4 July 1826. He served overseas in Jamaica for 4 years, 3 months; St. Helena, 6 years, 9 months, and the Cape of Good Hope for 5 years, 5 months. Served in the 2nd Kaffir War, 1846-47. Discharged at Gosport on 12 May 1848 due to being considered permanently disabled for military duty.
