Charles Richard Field was born in Eastergate, Chichester. A Farmer by occupation, he attested for the Imperial Yeomanry on 24 February 1900. Served in South Africa, 28 March 1900-24 June 1901 and attained the rank of Squadron Serjeant-Major in April 1901. With copied service details.
