2nd Lieutenant Leonard G. Humphrys, 11th Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 27 August 1915. Served as Signals Officer and was wounded in action on the first day of the battle of the Somme, 1 July 1916. He later transferred to the Royal Engineers and became a Temporary Acting Lieutenant. Promoted to Captain in 1925; Major in 1929 and Lieutenant-Colonel in 1938. Served with the R.A.S.C. during the Second World War. With copied service details and copied photograph.
