M.M. London Gazette 12 June 1918. ‘H/71529 Pte., N. Irish Horse (Belfast)’
With copied extract from the Belfast Telegraph, 9 May 1918, which also bears his photograph: ‘1735 Private James A. Loughlin, North Irish Horse, has been awarded the Military Medal for a gallant act in the face of the enemy under heavy fire. He is the son of Mr James A. Laughlin, 38 Berlin Street, Belfast and grandson of the late Councillor J. A. Laughlin (Woodvale Ward). He is 20 years of age, and was employed at Messrs. Combe, Barbour’s before joining the colours.’ Also with copied gazette extract and m.i.c.
