D.S.M. London Gazette 29 June 1917. ‘in recognition of their services in Minesweeping operations between the 1st July 1916 and the 31st March 1917.’

Chief Petty Officer Rigger George David Glover, of H.M.Y. Victoria & Albert was awarded the R.V.M. on 19 August 1914 on the occasion of H.M. The King’s visit to Portsmouth.

George David Glover was born at Greenwich on 24 September 1872, and joined the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class in February 1888. He joined the Royal Yacht Victoria & Albert in January 1894 and served aboard it continuously until May 1914, after which he joined the Royal Fleet Reserve.
