Distinguished Service Order, G.V.R., silver-gilt and enamel, with top bar; 1914-15 Star (Capt., E. Lan. R.); British War and Victory Medals, M.I.D. oak leaf (Lt. Col.); Territorial Decoration, G.V.R., with top bar; Egypt, Order of the Nile, 3rd Class neck badge by Lattes, silver, silver-gilt and enamel, with neck cravat, in damaged case of issue; together with a mounted set of six miniature dress medals (Victory detached), these in leather case, good very fine and better (12) £1600-2000

Thomas Chambers Robinson was the son of Colonel Arthur J. Robinson, Gentleman Steward of Honour of Clitheroe Castle. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the 1st Volunteer Battalion East Lancashire Regiment on 3 August 1895. During the Great War he served as a Major (Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel) in the 4th Battalion East Lancashire Regiment, serving in Egypt and Gallipoli under his brother, Colonel Frederick D. Robinson, of Clitheroe. He was subsequently appointed Lieutenant-Colonel, D.A.A.G. & D.A.Q.M.G. in charge of logistics for the 4th Cavalry Division of the E.E.F. in Palestine during 1917. For his wartime services he was twice mentioned in despatches and awarded the D.S.O. and Order of the Nile.
