Pair: Nurse Margaret Robertson Rodger, Voluntary Aid Detachment

Miss Margaret Robertson Rodger enrolled as a V.A.D. Nurse, with the Surrey/18 Detachment on 12 October 1915. As a Nurse she served at the Military Hospital, Malta, 12 October 1915-12 May 1916; London Hospital, Chelsea, 11 July 1916-23 April 1917; and a Military Hospital in France, 23 April 1917-29 March 1919. She was awarded two scarlet efficiency stripes on 20 September 1919 and was mentioned in Haig’s despatches for France (London Gazette 10 July 1919). Miss Rodger was discharged in March 1919.
