Thomas McKee was born in Armagh. A Printer by occupation, he attested for the 4th Dragoon Guards at Armagh on 27 December 1887. He served overseas in India, September 1894-October 1900; China, October 1900-July 1901; India, July 1901-August 1903; Somaliland, August 1903-August 1904; India, August-October 1904; South Africa, October 1904-February 1907; South Africa, July 1907-November 1908. He was discharged in December 1908. For the Great War he attested for the Remount Branch of the Army Service Corps in April 1915. At the time his address was 80 Hazelbourne Road, Balham, London. He was transferred to Class ‘Z’ Reserve in August 1919.
