Canada General Service 1866-70, 1 clasp, Fenian Raid 1866 (17 Pte., 30th Rgt.) impressed naming; Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., 3rd issue, small reverse letters (17 Pte., 30th Foot) good very fine and better (2) £420-460

John Lewis was born in Ilminster, Somerset and attested for the 30th Regiment at Bristol on 15 September 1857, aged 18 years. With them he served in Canada for nearly eight years and was awarded the L.S. & G.C. with a gratuity of £5 in November 1876. He was discharged at Burnley,having completed his second period of engagement on 12 March 1880.
