Charles Henry Green was born in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex on 7 January 1872. A Brickmaker by occupation, he entered the Royal Navy as a Stoker 2nd Class in September 1891 and was advanced to Stoker in September 1894. Was a bit of a naughty boy - he is listed as being in and out of the cells 11 times during his naval career. Discharged in July 1899 when his last character entry was listed as ‘Bad’.
