The South Africa Medal awarded to Private A. Truswell, 58th Regiment, severely wounded at the Battle of Majuba Mountain, 27 February 1881, he died of his wounds on 28 May 1881

South Africa 1877-79, no clasp (29/1135 Pte. R. Truswell, 58th Foot) with ornate silver top bar, minor edge bruise, nearly extremely fine

Private A. Truswell, 58th Regiment served in South Africa and was awarded a South Africa Medal 1877-79 without clasp for his services. He was still based there at the time of the First Boer War, 1880-81. Truswell was severely wounded at the Battle of Majuba Mountain, 27 February 1881. He died of his wounds at Newcastle, Natal, on 28 May 1881.
