Crimea 1854-56, 4 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann, Sebastopol (Pv.. Thos. Jas. Mather, 68th Regt.) engraved naming, claw refitted, clasp carriages damaged and repaired, edge bruising, contact marks, fine £200-250

Thomas James Mather attested for the 68th Regiment in October 1846. He served three years, three months in Malta and 11 months in the Crimea. He was discharged on 6 March 1857, partly on the reduction of the Army and partly due to rheumatism attributed to his military service in the Crimea during the Winter of 1854-55. At the time of his discharge he was in possession of two Good Conduct Badges. With copied discharge papers and roll extracts confirming the award of four clasps to his Crimea Medal.
