David Mahoney was born in Knockaville, Cork on 1 May 1829. Listed as an Ordinary Seaman on H.M.S. Spitfire in March 1846. Served as an Able Seaman on H.M.S. Collossus, October 1854-June 1857; afterwards serving as a Boatman with the Coast Guard. With copied service papers.
