France, Émile Jungfleisch, 1910, a bronze plaque by P. Richer, bust left, reverse naked female figure of Science presenting a laurel wreath to Jungfleisch, who stands next to his chemical apparatus, 70 x 50mm (PBE 799; BDM VIII, 358). Extremely fine, patinated; in original maroon card box (£30-40)

Émile-Clément Jungfleisch (1839-1916), eminent French pharmacist; the plaque commemorates his election to the Académie des Sciences in 1909
