France, Completion of the Conservatoire Royal des Arts et Métiers, 1847, a bronze medal by J.B.J. Klagmann and J.F.A. Bovy, bust of Louis Philippe I left, crowned and robed female supporters at sides, reverse façade of the building, 67mm (BDM VII, 508); together with England, Victoria’s Golden Jubilee, 1887, a bronze medal by Sir J.E. Boehm and Sir F. Leighton, crowned bust left, reverse enthroned figure of Empire surrounded by standing figures representing Science, Letters, Art, etc., Mercury and Time below, 77mm (BHM 3219; E 1733a) [2]. First extremely fine, second nearly so (£35-45)
