Victoria (1837-1901), Proof Crown, 1853, edge decimo septimo, reverse enamelled in red, light and dark blue, white, yellow and gold. A very significant enamelled piece, very fine or better and of good work; with pin brooch and loop for wear (£1,000-1,200)

Although enamelled Gothic Crowns of 1847 are occasionally seen (cf. Vorley, lots 117-18), it is believed that this is the only Crown of 1853 that has been enamelled
