British Tokens

Uncertain location, brass bracteate, 1758, c. a:c., y (or tree) dividing date, all in three lines, 23mm, 1.68g (D & W –; Burzinski –; Seaby ST –; Brodie –); together with a Dundee communion token, 1785 (Burzinski 2140) [2]. Flan of first crimped, otherwise good fine, extremely rare, second fair to fine £80-100

First only illustrated. The placing of the Y symbol relative to the date is reminiscent of a 1778 bracteate copper check from the Yardside Colliery, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire (Brodie 342); perhaps this is an earlier token from that establishment
