Five: Captain H. Grylls, Royal Army Ordnance Corps, late South Wales Borderers

1914 Star, with clasp (2. Lieut H. Grylls, S. Wales Bord.; British War and Victory Medals (2. Lieut H. Grylls); Defence and War Medals, these named ‘111245 Capt. H. Grylls’, together with SWB cap badge mounted on a square silver plate, hallmarked Birmingham 1939, the reverse fitted with stand and engraved ‘Humphry Grylls, 2nd Lieut. Sept. 1914’, good very fine (6) £250-300

Humphry Grylls was born on 2 March 1896, and gazetted 2nd Lieutenant on 1 October 1914. He disembarked in France on 15 November 1914 and was wounded at Kemmel on 24 November 1914. He subsequently served as an A.D.C. on the Staff, 1917-19.
