Nur Khan enrolled into the 61st Madras Pioneers on 4 April 1881. He was promoted to Jemadar in October 1895, Subadar in February 1902 and Subadar-Major in February 1912. His military service gained him three campaign medals: I.G.S. 1854 with clasp for Burma 1885-87; I.G.S. 1895 with clasp for Punjab Frontier 1897-98, and China 1900 with clasp for Relief of Pekin. Nur Khan was awarded the R.V.M. on 19 March 1906 on the occasion of the Prince of Wales’s visit to India. He was additionally awarded the O.B.I. 2nd Class on 12 December 1911, the O.B.I. 1st Class on 3 June 1913 and the Delhi Durbar Medal 1911. Subadar-Major Nur Khan retired from the Indian Army on 28 August 1914. With copied research.
