Battle of the Alma Relic a Lancer’s Stirrup. A very interesting iron stirrup with an attached period label ‘British Cavalry stirrup for Lancers ??? picked up on the banks of the river ??? of the Alma’. The stirrup is certainly of the period, the outer side has two ‘D’ loops for attaching the leather shoe to accommodate the lance including a small buckle possibly from the leather shoe. No further provenance, very good condition £250-350
