William Donald Omand was a stretcher bearer with Westminster Air Raid Precautions. He later took Holy Orders, being ordained Priest at Oxford in 1955. He was Curate of Thatcham, 1954-55; Curate of Easthamstead, 1955-56; Rector of Winterbourne Abbas with Steepleton, 1956-59; Perpetual Curate of Chideok, 1959-69 and Vicar, 1969-71; then served in the Office of the Diocese of Exeter, 1972-75; Sarum, 1975-76, and Exeter, 1976-78.
