Corporal John Bell served in the British Columbia Provincial Police, November 1938-August 1950 and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, August 1950-December 1965. He died at Comox, British Columbia on 30 October 1987, aged 75 years.

With Certificate of Service; R.C.M.P. Certificate to accompany the medal; R.C.M.P. Discharge Certificate; a number of official copies of letters re his service and several photographs, including one at the presentation of his medal.
