Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., 3rd issue, small letter reverse (1474 Pte. W. Vickers, Wilts. R.), good very fine £110-130
William Vickers was born in the parish of St. Paul’s in Lincoln and enlisted in the 62nd Foot in London in September 1868, aged 20 years. He subsequently completed 18 years with the Colours, 13 of them in the East Indies, where he was onetime a Bandsman, but he saw no active service. Awarded his L.S. & G.C. Medal in A.G. List 217 of October 1886, he was finally discharged in Jersey in April 1887; sold with research, including copied discharge papers.
