Hammer Price:

Naval General Service 1793-1840, 3 clasps, Trafalgar, St. Domingo, 14 Dec Boat Service 1814 (Edward Moore) good very fine £8000-10000

Ex Needes Collection 1940.

Edward Moore is confirmed as an Ordinary Seaman aboard
Agamemnon at Trafalgar and St Domingo, and as Carpenter’s Crew aboard Bedford at the British attack on New Orleans in 1814. Both a unique name and unique combination of clasps.

The Muster Lists confirm that Edward Moore was aboard
Agamemnon at Trafalgar and St Domingo as an Ordinary Seaman. He joined H.M.S. Bedford in August 1809 as an Able Seaman, being advanced to Carpenter’s Mate aboard her in November 1810. He remained in Bedford until 1815. Sold with relevant copied muster lists and other research.
