A.F.C. London Gazette 1 January 1946. The following details are taken from Air Ministry records: ‘From the outbreak of the war until the present time, Flight Lieutenant Holland has been employed on instructional duties. He has maintained a high standard throughout and has consistently produced good results. During the last 2 years, this officer has commanded a flight in a most efficient manner. He has shown great devotion to duty and a strong sense of discipline, qualities which have been reflected in the bearing of his instructors and pupils.’ At the time of the recommendation Holland had completed 3640 hours flying time and was serving with No. 2 E.F.T.S.
