18-605 Pte., Durh. L.I.); British War and Victory Medals (18-605 Pte., Durh. L.I.); together with Great War tribute medal, in silver, 28mm, obverse with Britannia holding wreath, inscribed ‘For services rendered in the Great War 1914-1919’, reverse inscribed ‘With the Pelton Owners Appreciation Pte. Thomas Stobbs’, this lacking suspension loop, extremely fine (4) £70-90

Private Thomas Stobbs was born at Pelton Fell, Durham and lived at Newfield, Durham. He was killed in action France and Flanders 28 July 1916 whilst serving with the 18th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry.
