Three: Major E. De L. Barton, 1st Battalion, The Queen’s Regiment

1914 Star, with clasp (Capt., The Queen’s R.); British War and Victory Medals (Major) together with two portrait photographs, three group photographs, and several contemporary news cuttings, extremely fine (3) £250-300

Major Edward De Lacy Barton was severely wounded and taken prisoner at Gheluvelt on 31 October 1914, and was held prisoner in Germany for three and a half years. He was then exchanged to Holland, where he was interned for six months, after which he was repatriated to England in August 1918. He subsequently became Assistant Provost Marshal at Woolwich and left the service in 1920 with a pension for wounds.
