Colonel Charles Bunbury Lawson was born at Ballingarry, Ireland on 3 August 1867, entered the R.A.M.C. as a Lieutenant, 30 January 1892; Captain, 30 January 1895; served during the Boer War, including the advance on Kimberley; promoted Major, 30 January 1904; Lieutenant Colonel, 3 August 1914; Brevet Colonel, 18 February 1915. Sold with copy of m.i.c. confirming that his Great War trio was issued in July 1933.
