Estimate: £1,500–£2,000

A Letter of Condolence From Guy Gibson, a single typewritten sheet dated 30th May 1943, sent to a mother who had lost a son, commenting, ‘I am so glad that I have been able to revenge his and many others who have been lost in this war...’, signed in blue ink, 17.5cm by 22cm, left edge slightly trimmed and with folding creases, otherwise good condition £1500-2000

This letter was written less than two weeks after the Dams Raid, by which time Gibson was already a national hero.
