Estimate: £1,600–£1,800

South Atlantic 1982, with rosette (24179388 Sgt G M Bonner RE (SAS)) good very fine and rare £1600-1800

According to verbal information from two reliable unnamed sources, one of whom served with him at some stage, Gerry Bonner served with B Squadron, 22 SAS during the Falklands conflict. This squadron parachuted into the Atlantic as replacements for those members of D and G Squadrons lost in the Sea King helicopter tragedy. He is further credited with having been an ‘assaulter’ during Operation Nimrod, the Iranian Embassy Siege, in the same troop as “Soldier I” whose book Soldier I SAS: Eighteen years in the Elite Force, gives arguably the best account of the breaking of the siege.
