Served with 9 Para Squadron, Royal Engineers, and was severely injured aboard the Sir Galahad. Mark Richard is mentioned several times in Simon Weston’s book Walking Tall, and with whom he formed a lasting friendship. Sold with copies of various news cuttings which relate that, after Simon Weston, he was the second most serious casualty and underwent 18 serious operations, and relating his later struggles and misfortunes brought about by his serious injuries.
