William Henry Stokes served as a Private in the Royal Fusiliers from December 1915 until April 1917, when he was discharged to a commission in the Royal Garrison Artillery. He was killed in action, France & Flanders, on 18 April 1918.

Private George Torkington, born Romiley, Cheshire, enlisted Manchester, was killed in action, France & Flanders, on 1st July 1916, the first day of the battle of the Somme.
