Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Modder River, Wittebergen, S.A. 1901 (1570 C.Sgt. J. Biggs, 1st Highland Lt. Infy.) good very fine £80-100

James Biggs was born in Bath, Somerset, and enlisted for the Highland Light Infantry at Hamilton in November 1883. He served in South Africa from 23 October 1899 untill 8 April 1901, when he transferred to the 8th Scottish Volunteer Battalion, Liverpool Regiment. He was discharged in the rank of Colour-Sergeant (Acting Sergeant-Major) on 7 November 1904. Sold with copy service papers and confirmation of clasps.
