London Gazette 3 June 1916.

Percy Wearn came from Brockenhurst, Hampshire. As a Private in the Wiltshire Regiment he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 19 July 1915. Entitled to the 1914-15 Star.

His m.i.c. records that his D.C.M. was found by a member of the public in April 1928 and that the D.C.M. was re-issued in September 1929.

Some characters on the erased D.C.M. can be discerned indicating that the medal was originally awarded to a member of the Machine Gun Corps.
