J. A. Earley came from Newport, Isle of Wight.

Fred James Earley was born and lived in Northwood, Isle of Wight and enlisted at Winchester. Serving with ‘A’ Company, 12th Battalion Hampshire Regiment, he was killed in action in the Balkans on 25 April 1917, aged 26 years. His name is commemorated on the Doiran Memorial. He was the son of Frederick J. and Maria Earley of Spring Cottages, Mark’s Corner, Newport, Isle of Wight.
